To report news responsibly, encourage innovation and creativity in newspapers, enhance close interaction of students, faculty, staff, and administration, and publish truthful articles to spark positive discussion and personal thought.
Senior Katherine Beale joined the Lakeside Legend last year. She currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief, having previously served as the Copy Editor. She is also the President of the Tri-M Music Honor Society, a Section Leader for the Viking Chorale, and the Community Commissioner for the Civic Engagement Club.
Senior Morgan Polk of the Lakeside Legend joined the newspaper staff at the beginning of this school year. She has written articles on staff members and taken photos of the Lakeside building. She is a hardworking student that acts as the president of the Mock Trial Team and the Orchestra Leadership Council, and is the Managing Editor for the Legend this year.
Senior Rachel Kroger of the Lakeside Legend started working for the paper at the beginning of the 2020 school year. She has conducted surveys, edited content, and redesigned the online publication. She is a dedicated student that acts as the President of the JSU, the co-founder and vice president of the Red Cross Club, and is an editor for the Legend this year.
Senior Emily Yan, the Copy Editor for the Lakeside Legend, joined the paper this year. She edits and writes about academics at Lakeside. She is also the Founder and President of Lakeside’s Red Cross Club, a VolunTeen at Children’s Healthcare, and a member of Atlanta’s Ronald McDonald House Youth Leadership Council.
Senior Nicholas Turk is a newcomer to the Lakeside Legend staff. He also participates in Mock Trial and Math Team, and attended the Governor’s Honors Program for mathematics in the summer of 2019.
