Lakeside’s Swim and Dive started off with a splash on Thursday, November 8th during their first meet at Chamblee High School. The boys team beat Chamblee by 47 while the girls team lost by 47. We wanted to get to know the 13 swim and dive captains so we decided to ask them a few questions before the upcoming season kicked off. Lauren Levin’s name rings a bell with most of Lakeside’s student body and staff. Maybe you know her as your softball coach; perhaps you know her as the sponsor of the Student Government Association. She may have even been your student, given that she attended Henderson Middle and Lakeside High School. After working at Henderson Middle school for two years, Ms. Levin took the opportunity to teach at Lakeside mainly because high school was one of the best experiences of her life. When New Head Coach Clay Crump turns on the hip-hop beats at the beginning of practice, the boys’ basketball team starts dribbling, running, and passing down the court. The Lakeside Boys Basketball team practices through their weekends, for at least two hours each day. This year the three teams, Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Freshman, welcomes a new head coach, along with four new assistant coaches. No coaches returned from last year’s staff.
